A New Beginning

Whether or not it is wishful thinking on my part, and many others, we have begun a new time in history. We now have our first black President Barack Obama. It has been amazing listening to the different events going on to celebrate the inauguration.

Barack has a lot to deal with the next three years. He seems to know what to do and how to manage people. There will be down times and set backs but I think he was the best choice for managing our situation. Good luck Barack!

Many people believe that what you do on New Year's Day sets the tone for your entire year. How did you spend the first day of 2009? Do you think it will influence the rest of the year?

I hope it doesn't. I spent New Years in Minneapolis bar hopping. The first of January was spent sleeping and traveling back home.

This freaks me out. How can people not see the lies?

New Users

I'm used to hearing people gripe about new users and how they can be so dumb sometimes. To be honest sometimes they are just adorable! A woman called in and asked how to save their web site in FrontPage (she had never used the program before). After my quick explanation she responded, "That's it?". Sometimes people can be just adorable!

As you can see I still have not come up with a direction for this particular blog. In the mean time I have created another one here that will deal more with information I find and hopefully some discussion will come from the thing found.

Recess

After finishing working out for the first time in two months I got a feeling of having had fun. Working out can be boring, especially if you are just running on a treadmill or using an eliptical machine but when you are done it feels fantastic. This reminded me of what it felt like after finishing recess back in grade school.

Have American's been getting fatter because we don't have much or any recess time any more? The other day on the news I heard of a group called "Marathon Kids" which are trying to promote being outside and getting kids active. A study found that the kids who had their recess taken away and used for a study hall showed no increase in grades, whereas those that had a break time did increase.

If we were allowed to do whatever we wanted during high school, in the time that we normally have P.E., I am sure kids would find something that keeps them busy. Sure there would be kids sitting about either reading or doing nothing but sometimes that's what you need. I wish that we had this during my time in high school. Now I pay to go to a place with equipment to exercise.

For some time this blog has needed some changes and over the course of the next month they should be completed. I am not entirely sure what the content of this blog will be. The previous posts have been deleted.
